Friends of Beckett Street

Two publications are available from the Friends: the Beckett Street Cemetery Trail and the NFCF leaflet British Cemeteries . Each costs 20 pence and can be obtained from the FoBSC Leaflet Service, 2 North Park Road, Leeds, West Yorkshire LS8 1JD, by sending the cost (in British stamps if preferred) and an appropriately stamped self-addressed envelope at least 9 inches by 4 inches. (We are very sorry that our overseas correspondents will find this difficult, but we are unfortunately too small an organisation to make any other financial or banking arrangements.)

They have the opportunity to attend the AGM in May or June, at which there is always an entertaining and useful talk or film, one on a historical subject and one on an aspect of the wildlife of the cemetery. There are occasional extra lectures, or visits to other cemeteries or churchyards, and a programme of guided walks at the cemetery is run by a Friend who is also a qualified Leeds City Guide (telephone 0113 225 3866 for details of the walks).
